Traditional Wedding Hog Roast Ewell Style

This week was another busy one for Hog Roast Ewell. We had been up and down the country doing what we do best – providing delicious slow roasted food fresh for our customers. On Saturday, however, we were back catering locally for the wedding of Leanne and Kieron who had booked us almost a year ago now so were more than excited for their big day and to finally try a Hog Roast Ewell…

We arrived at the venue bright and early as always. This is as we prefer to cater from scratch on site so that our clients get only the finest quality food and this way they also get to see the cooking process first hand. The reception was being held in the gardens of a local stately home and luckily for us we were able to cater under a huge gazebo that had been transformed into a beautiful banquet hall for the day. There were candles and flowers adorning every surface which really gave such a romantic and special feel to the location. Once set up we got to work preparing the food…

We had been asked to provide one of our traditional Hog Roast Ewell wedding menus. This type of service includes canapes and a welcome drinks service followed by a three-course meal and we can also serve the wedding cake too if required. The couple had chosen our Dim Sum (Selection of Fine Chinese Appetisers), Pate Encroute (Smooth Brussels Pate Piped onto Crusty Garlic Croutons) and Haloumi Kebabs (Griddled Chunks of Greek Haloumi Cheese Skewered with Caramelized Onions) for their choice of canapes. For the main we had prepared a whole slow roasted Hog Roast Ewell with lots of crunchy crackling and homemade applesauce that was served with seasonal vegetables and a variety of salads. We finished up the meal by serving the couples wedding cake to the guests which was a beautiful tiered red velvet cake that went down a treat.
