Earlier in 2024, Hog Roast Ockham was hired to cater for a surprise party taking place this March. The party is being hosted for Lisa to celebrate her fiftieth birthday and she is being surprised with her parents flying to England from their home in Spain. Lisa’s husband is organising the party and has invited sixty guests to celebrate the occasion at their home. Additionally, Hog Roast Ockham has been hired to cater for the party with one of our delicious buffet menus. After looking through the different menus that we can provide, it was decided that a classic hog roast would be perfect.
On the day of the party, the Hog Roast Ockham team arrived at the venue in the morning to begin to prepare for the 6:00pm serving time. We began by slow-roasting the hog and allowing it to cook to perfection. Once ready, it was expertly carved by our chef and served in fresh bread rolls, alongside sage and onion stuffing, homemade applesauce, and crispy crackling. For meat-free guests, we also provided BBQ-pulled jackfruit, which is a delicious alternative to pulled pork. Alongside the mains, the guests enjoyed homemade chips, sweet potato fries, gourmet coleslaw, and a selection of fresh salad dishes. Overall, this created a menu that was varied and filling, with plenty for every guest to enjoy. The surprise party was a lot of fun for everyone and it was great to see Lisa being spoilt by her friends and family. She was especially excited to see her parents and it was great for the whole family to be back in one room together for the first time in years.
